Nelson Mandela, the man who was called as, “the most influential, courageous and profoundly good human to ever lived on this planet”, by many leaders including the U.S. President Barack Obama needs no special introduction.

This anti-apartheid leader was a controversial figure for much of his life. Denounced as a communist terrorist by his critics, he rose to fame through his social work and gained international acclaim for his activism. Mandela is the recipient of 250 honours, which included the 1993 Nobel Peace Prize, the U.S. Presidential Medal of Freedom, the Soviet Order of Lenin and the Bharat Ratna. And before passing away at the age of 95, he inspired a generation of young minds to fight for their right.
