More Than 70, 000 Job Openings In PSUs And More To Come
BANGALORE: Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have floated with more than 70000 job openings in the last four month’s die to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. There are more such openings come up.
National Highway Authority of India, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd, Railway Recruitment Boards and other public sector banks have rolled out vacancy under various designations.
Aditya Narayan Mishra, president — staffing, Randstad India, a recruiting firm considers government initiatives like Make in India as the root cause behind such openings. He said, ““PSUs will see aggressive hiring through 2015-16, and this is expected to be the highest-ever recruitment drive in over a decade.”
The openings are for engineers, teachers, scientists, policemen, clerks, management trainees, data-entry workers and many other.
The openings in PSUs are also mushrooming as Oil and Natural Gas Corp, Indian Oil Corp and Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd are in expansion planning mode.
Amit Garg, executive director, digital initiatives, HT Media and owner of Shine.com considers government initiative Jan Dhan Yojana as another reason of job openings. He states, ““A majority of public sector banks are on a hiring drive. Most of those jobs are a result of a humongous number of bank accounts opened under Jan Dhan Yojana.”
Though it’s expected that such huge openings and opportunities in government undertakings would be really likeable for young aspirants but Rituparna Chakraborty, senior vice-president at staffing firm TeamLease Services claims a different situation, “However, unlike private sector, PSUs did not have a steady inflow of young talent over the last 15 years. Hence, large scale retirement stares at them.”
