Microsoft hires Meetul Patel to drive its consulting business

New Delhi: Microsoft India has roped in Meetul Patel, Vice-President and India Head of transformational consulting practice at Capgemini, to drive its consulting business. He is expected to join the software major in mid-January, reports the Economic Times. When contacted by ET, Microsoft India Spokeswoman declined to confirm or deny the development. However she said, "Our Enterprise Consulting Services business has been in existence for over 10 years. There's a search on to replace Vikas Arora, Director, enterprise services." Arora will now head Microsoft's software and services (cloud computing) business in India. However, Patel confirmed his joining in Microsoft but declined to comment further on his role. Patel, with his vast experience in technology consulting fits the bill. He will be advising large Microsoft customers on best technology solutions, customised applications and software architecture. Over the years, Patel has worked with clients in financial services, healthcare, communications and computing sectors on challenges ranging from growth strategies, optimisation of functions to marketing and IT. He is an undergraduate in engineering Physics from Rensselaer Institute in the U.S. and MBA from Wharton.
