Manoj Chugh appointed as the President of EMC India and SAARC
Bangalore: EMC India, a developer and provider of information infrastructure technology and solutions, has announced Manoj Chugh as the newly appointed President of EMC India and SAARC Region. He will work with Sarv Saravanan, who is the leader of EMC's Centre of Excellence based in Bangalore, to expand EMC's products and services capabilities in India. Chugh will be responsible for accelerating EMC's growth in India, strengthening the team, and enhancing the company's relationships with partners and alliances in India. Chugh replaces Alok Ohrie, who has resigned from EMC. Previously, Chugh held the leadership role in India for five years until May 2008, when he was promoted to the role of Director for Global Accounts for EMC in Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region. As a result of his success in working with global customers in APJ, Chugh will continue to lead Global Accounts for EMC in APJ in addition to leading the sales and services organizations in EMC India. "As I continue to work with EMC global customers, it's clear that customers of all sizes are grappling with similar issues around how to store, protect, virtualize and automate the massive growth of information," said Chugh. Prior to joining EMC in 2003, Chugh served as the President of Cisco Systems in India and SAARC. Spending 27 years of his career in the IT industry, Chugh has held several senior positions in sales, business development, and general management at Wipro, Scientific Atlanta and HCL Group. "Chugh's extensive experience in businesses to market leadership positions and in delivering on EMC's service commitments combined with his experience at EMC with global customers will provide tremendous value as we continue to invest in global customers and India as a source of innovation and revenue growth," said Ron Goh, President, EMC South Asia.
