Major challenges of young Indian IT Managers

Bangalore: It is true that the IT managers have got a heady position in the Indian society. As the number of young managers increases, it has created a classic look to the entire managerial scenario. It has reached a stage where within a few years of career span the youngsters get into the managerial positions and majority of the seniors pave way for the new generation by thinking it is the best way for innovation. But have you ever thought about the dilemmas that the young managers face?
Young managers may not have all the right skills needed to fulfill their managerial duties. Can you imagine the frustrations that they undergo in a short span? It is essential for a manager to have the ability to work and communicate with various types of people, both juniors and seniors. That could be a challenge, particularly for someone who is an introvert.
Besides people management, even decision making also is a challenge to the new generation. Manager's decisions can impact an entire team, so the decisions are more important than ever before. It is true that not all of us are born with good decision-making skills. A wrong decision can lead you towards several lots. Therefore it is always good to observe superiors in situations where they have to make decisions. How many of them do it is a matter of question now.
Young Indian techies are always target for their frequency in switching jobs. Experts say that they often switch jobs to counter career fatigue. Even though few HRs consider it as a means for better growth opportunity in term of maximum exposure may be true. But often majority of the young Indian IT managers find it difficult to encounter career fatigue and take up responsibility or new initiatives to make their existing role more exciting.
Another challenge that comes across is that since they are young and have got several unmet expectations which lead them to restlessness and doubts. Majority of the organizations often care more about the manager's depth of knowledge, rather than the number of years he or she has spent in the role. Be it young or old managerial skills are something unavoidable. Encountering these challenges is something that are of high priority for the young Indian Managers today.
