LG Electronics introduces changes to management profile in India

Bangalore: LG Electronics has introduced radical changes in India. Dr. Y.V. Verma who has been at the center of LG India right from its inception in the country and has played a pivotal role in taking the brand to its current level of fortitude, has been elevated to the position of Chief Operating Officer, LG India. He will now be responsible for the company's operation in India and spearheading the Sales and marketing functions of LGEIL.
Further top management changes at LG Electronics India include the shifting of V Ramachandran (formerly Director of Marketing) to the position of Head Strategy. Also, Amitabh Tiwari (formerly Business Head of Home entertainment) has been elevated as the Head Sales. Rohit Pandit who brings with him a rich experience of 16 plus years in consumer durable industry has been elevated as the Business Head for LG Home Entertainment.
As claimed by the company, these appointments signify LG's efforts to become a more achievement-oriented organization. In recruiting these new executives, LG Electronics looked both domestically and internationally to identify leaders that can help it deliver on its global promise. LG India's other newly-appointed top executives include Business Head of Mobile Communication Sudhin Mathur. Prior to this appointment, Mathur served as Marketing Head of Sony Ericsson.
On this occasion, Moon B Shin, Managing Director of LG Electronics India said, "We at LG India are delighted to introduce these new changes in the top management. With this we aim to increase operating efficiency and establish greater autonomy at the operating level; strengthening the independence of LG India as a subsidiary to LG Electronics. All these changes will come into effect from 1st Jan 2010."
