In his words, “All our government policies are capital and not labour intensive in nature”, reports DNA. And he added that, “The focus is on rote learning rather than vocational training”. Referring to the lack of soft skills, Pai was quoted saying, “Most of our young workforce don’t possess soft skills. They are unable to present themselves smartly either”.

As per Anu Aga, MP Rajya Sabha and Director of Thermax Ltd, malnourishment is another reason behind the failure of Indian education system. And she explained that, “A focus on improving young India’s health will be a catalyst to developing skilled-employees”. Aga even expressed concern over focus on class-based education rather than talent based education in India.

Rajan Saxena, Vice chancellor, NMIMS University, echoed the sentiments of Aga. He also blamed the inefficiency of Indian education institutes to develop an effective culture that groomed talent and to an extent the industry for not being open about what they want, as other reasons behind the lack of proficient talent pool in the country.
