Krunal Kishorbhai of BITS Nailed 1.4Cr Offer From Google
BENGALURU: Krunal Kishorbhai Patel, a 21-year old BITS Pilani student from Goa campus, has landed at a huge Rs 1.4 crore starting annual salary offer from Google for a position at its headquarters at Mountain View, California. Krunal acquired this huge opportunity through his college placement cell, which came as a pleasant surprise to him. The placement cell will see to it Krunal will join the company as a designated software engineer in October 2015.
Patel is presently pursuing a dual degree: BE honors, in computer science and MSc honors in mathematics at BITS-Pilani. "I couldn't believe it for a few seconds when my recruiter called me to present the offer. It was the best day of my life," says Patel. Google conducts an (Asia Pacific) APAC test for students who would be graduating in 2015 from different universities across Asia Pacific and fortunately Patel ranked second in India and eighth in the Asia Pacific.
Hailing from Rajkot, in Gujarat, Patel finished his schooling from Atmiya. "I was not quite bothered about placements till my third year at BITS. I had no clue as to what companies are looking out for. But, I made sure I kept my grades high and focused on learning as many things as I could to update my knowledge about computer science and mathematics," says Patel.
He consistently maintained high grades in both the courses so far in BITS, with a cumulative grade point average value of 9.4, and cleared GATE 2014 with an all-India rank of 10 in computer science. Krunal’s future is now certain and his family is overjoyed.
