Job Seekers To Thrive On Modi's Newly Launched National Career Service Portal
BANGALORE: Job-seekers will have a reason to celebrate as the Prime Minister Narendra Modi commenced the National Career Counseling Portal to ensure that all government-run employment exchanges. This government facility will focus on skill development withemployment generation plans on creating a direct market place for employees and workers, reports Firstpost.
The main portal will be backed by web Career Centres through which potential candidates will be permitted for free counseling from government certified counselors and psychologists.
Here is the latest news on the new jobs website:
* The National Career Service portal commenced at the 46th session of Indian Labor Conference. It intends to hire around 20 million job seekers that have already been registered with employment exchanges around India. It also aims at launching 900,000 establishments and companies to the portal
* As per the official data, there are over 44.7 million job seekers at present that have been registered with 956 employment exchanges in India, out of with a good 26.88 million are men and women under 29 age bar.
* The prime stakeholders for the NCS is expected to include
-Students who are seeking career guidance
-Job seeking candidates whoare currently unemployed
- Candidates looking for vocational / occupational guidance
- Under-privileged sections of society, Illiterate and blue-collar workers in search of placements and guidance.
- Employers looking for prospective candidates some of whom include ex-servicemen veterans / senior citizens and person with various abilities (PWDs)
* The NCS are expected to provide registration for job seekers and employers for free. However to avoid usage of the wrong sort, the Labor ministry has make it accustomed for job seekers to link their Aadhaar number when registering. In the same way, companies and organizations have to fill in the criteria after surrendering their company registration certificate copies or society registrations while enlisting their details on the portal.
* There are around 982 employment exchanges in India. In the first phase, the government has allocated Rs 190 crore in an attempt to transform 100 of these employment exchanges. The employment exchanges will also be part counseling centers through which candidates can benefit from career-related counseling either by visiting these centers or through helpline. The NCS will thus ensure various numbers of services that include career counseling, registrations for jobseekers and employers, aptitude assessment, job matching, information on availability of courses for educational institutions, guidance on self-employment, training providers and entrepreneurship.
*As per the report in Mint, the fact that it is the initiative of the Union government, Modi is certain to take interest in it. Furthermore all departments, central government ministries and state-run enterprises will also be swayed into posting their job vacancies through the portal. The entrepreneurship ministry, skill development and the ministry of small and medium enterprises will act as the main partners for this initiative.
