J&K Launches Self-Employment Schemes to Tackle Unemployment

Srinagar: Self-employment schemes initiated by the Jammu and Kashmir government are some of the steps taken by it to alleviate the problem of unemployment.
Besides providing employment to educated youths in government departments, the government has launched various self-employment projects for less educated like skill development scheme and Sher-e-Kashmir employment programme, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand said here today.
"The state government is focusing on development of infrastructure and establishing two central universities in Jammu province and Kashmir Valley and setting up degree colleges in the state," he said.
As per an official data, there are nearly six lakh unemployed youths in the state.
