Another company named Sapient Technologies believes more in the fact of recognizing individuals rather than a collective mass of people, says Devina Sengupta. The company has completely banned few common words like the ‘employees’, ‘workforce’ and ‘head’. This has been followed because in that company, they consider themselves as assets for the company than as the resources or tools, says M Anand Bhaskar whose is the Vice President of the company. He defines his job as to help people in the company succeed. Bhaskar added that, it takes few years to understand the reason behind not referring ‘employees’ as ‘Sapient People’. However, this kind of new culture is quite easier to build in smaller organization than a growing organization.

It has been reported that, these kinds of new unique designation names will attract the talents between the age group of 20 to 30 years. In few other cases, these kinds of new names help the organization to attract people for jobs like talent strategy or organizational development lead, said Anand Bhaskar.

Anand also said that, in their company they have renamed their designation to identify with the philosophy and culture of the firm and not to create market attraction.

Philips Company in India includes two kinds of designations namely, first being the email signature and the second is reserved for visiting cards. The first one email signature, is like that of an ‘architect’ or a ‘programmer’ which is quite similar to the employees counterparts and the second thing which is for visiting cards is designated keeping in mind the importance of designations in countries like India.
