IT, Software & Insurance Boosts 18 Percent Rise In Hiring
BENGALURU: The Naukri Job Speak Index of February 2016 witnessed 18pct rise in hiring activity since February 2015, reports Economic Times. The industries that contributed to this outstanding growth are insurance and IT sector, respectively.
The increase in hiring is reamrkable in ITES (17pct) and telecom (6pct) where hiring remained positive in between Feb’15 - Feb’16. However, BSFI experienced a drop in hiring where it started in a positive spree but ended with a decline of -5pct.
For the IT sector, it began with a 21pct demand for professionals and reached a peak during June-July’2015. At the end of one year, in Feb’2016 the total number of hiring that happened in the IT sector from Naukri Job Speak Index is more than 2650.
Demand in ITES rose up to 26pct in Feb’15 and remained steady all through, until a sudden boost in Feb’16 where the number of professionals reached 2373, and yet the demand continues. Additionally, the period was favorable for sales jobs as well with a growth of about 15pct and an epic rise in June-July’15.
Coming to metros, Mumbai led the city march with 24pct rise in hiring from Feb’15 to Feb’16. Delhi with 23pct was second in the city ranking, followed by Bengaluru at 22pct. Others include Kolkata (21pct), Hyderabad (15pct), Pune (13pct) and Chennai (12pct) respectively.
Among industries, the first three positions are occupied by IT Software, Insurance and ITES respectively.
For others the percentage range was: Pharma and Biotech (12pct), Automobile (7ct), Telecom (6ct), Real Estate, a Y-o-Y boost of 6pct, FMCG (29pct).
Construction and IT Hardware stood at a decline of -11pct and -22pct respectively.
In the functional aspect, top management professionals experienced a 51pct Y-O-Y rise, Marketing (39pct), Accounts (27pct) and Banking (15pct). Drop was seen in case of Project Management professionals, a 16pct decrease.
