Interview Mind Games That Can Make You Sweat
Leaving Out Parts Of Questions To See How You Will Finish Answering
Often recruiters come up with incomplete questions; say for instance, they will ask you to describe a time when you faced a difficult situation, without specifically asking what you did to put up with the issue and bring the situation under control. Such questions are intended to figure out whether you are a ‘problem solver’ or a ‘problem bringer’.
Recruiters use this question to judge your real attitude, and not your rehearsed personality. They expect you to answer the things that you have done to fix the issue if you are problem solver, without having to ask for it; on the other hand, they view you as a problem bringer if you answer the question as it is.
