Indian IT Firms All Set to Hire in U.S.
Bangalore: Indian IT is to expand its existence in U.S. IT market with more local hires. While upcoming U.S. election to lift up offshoring jobs as the main issue, and the rising difficulties in acquiring visas, are considered to be the key reasons to hire more locals, reports Shilpa Phadnis of TNN.
Apart from sales force at the client end, Indian IT sectors today are in need of more recruits in IT architecture work, system design and prototyping work. According to the recent study by NASSCOM, Indian IT supports more than 280,000 jobs in U.S. alone for last five years and it is expected to create twice over of this within five years. Among that 107, 000 are direct jobs and also it could create remaining more than 175, 000 subsidiary jobs.
Infosys had hired 1,200 employees in U.S. last year and by the end of this calendar year, the company has planned to hire another 2,000 people for its new delivery centre in Wisconsin. TCS also will be hiring 2,000 staffs this year at its U.S. centers. Wipro declared it had in excess of 10,000 people in and around U.S. among them 40 percent are local hires. HCL will be opening almost 10,000 jobs by the year 2015 both in U.S. and European markets.
