India to Witness a Rise in The Co-Working Space: Survey
BENGALURU: Corporates are increasingly seeking ground in the new concept of co-working spaces in India, reports ET. As per a survey conducted by Regus, a global workspace provider, the conventional office environment is being pushed away as the nation witnesses a new growth phase as demand from freelancers come into play for low cost and flexible work.
The survey was comprised of 44,000 business professionals from across 100 countries.
74 percent of the surveyed people in India address co-working spaces as a boost to their inspiration through shared skills or experience.
Working on-the-go is found to be very normal across the surveyed nations however only a few limited activities can be accessed. 49 percent of the respondents informed that cafes are convenient for checking emails yet not for writing back replies, whereas 39 percent informed that they might prefer cafes for writing back short replies however cannot work in such an environment for long.
39 percent of the respondents said that making calls in a car is acceptable to them whereas 12 percent stated that they prefer private vehicles for making conference calls.
In addition of this, public transport was stated as an acceptable location by 41 percent of the respondents for checking emails yet not for reverting on them.
"Instead, in order to carry out core work tasks for up to the equivalent of half a day's work, a quarter requires a business lounge (23 percent)," said a statement citing the survey findings.
Professionals across the world are demanding on the locations to work especially in regards to the main office, the survey said. On the disappointing side, 29 percent of the surveyed business people shared their meeting rooms are in poor condition.
Regus is global workspace provider in across 106 countries. Global biggies like Google, Toshiba and GlaxoSmithKline form a part of its customer base.
