Bangalore: IIT-Kharagpur has once again emerged as a trend-setter in the Indian education establishment. Amidst recent claims that the economic gloom and the outdated government policies have preyed on the employment opportunities across various fronts, several students from IIT-Kharagpur have already bagged lucrative offers before the start of the new placement season, reports TNN.         

Nearly 110 final-year students from the institution have already pocketed huge offers; and global giants are on their feet to tap the best of the available talent from the oldest and one of the most prestigious institutions within the shores of the country, almost a month before the start of the new placement season.

In the year 2011, the number of students who bagged offers during the pre-placement season stood at 54. And the management claims that, this 100 percent rise in the number of students picked up the corporate biggies has truly delighted them.
