IIT-Indore Student Bags Google Job Worth 1.7 Crore
BENGALURU: Gaurav Agarwal, a 21 year old B Tech final year student of IIT-Indore has bagged the highest package worth 1.7 Crore from Google. It is believed to be the highest package offered by Google over the past three years of placements session. Gaurav, who is the native of Bhilai, Chhattisgarh and is now in tight competition with BHU student has bagged an annual package of 2.03 Crore from Oracle and a Bombay girl who managed to receive a 2 Crore package from the social media site Facebook as per Hindustan times.
Gaurav Agarwal said that “we were told, google was conducting a test online. I appeared for the test. After being selected we were called for an on-site interview session at Gurgaon. Further interviews were held at Bangalore. Questions were asked related to programming structure and algorithms. I have received offer letter to join as software engineer in the U.S.”His joining date is yet to come.
Gaurav further says that he is the first engineer in his family and this news has come extremely encouraging as all his family members are engaged in family business. Furthermore, Gaurav is also excited about the place he has been posted to and he says he will be working in mountain view California which is the Hub of all software giants .
The overall placement in IIT Indore stands tall at 85 percent in 2014 with field like Computer science recording the 100 percent placement while mechanical and electrical branches recorded 75 and 77 percent respectively. Some prominent companies that took part in campus recruitment include Microsoft, Snapdeal, Qualcomm, Amazon, Google, Mahindra and Mahindra Tata Motors.
