IIM Kozhikode (IIMK) to Launch Satellite Campus at Kochi: Executive Education Will be the Focus

Announcing the launch of the Kochi campus, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director, IIM Kozhikode, said, “My vision for IIM Kozhikode is integral to the vision of Kerala as an emerging hub for young knowledge workers. IIM Kozhikode’s presence in Kochi will help the state spearhead its unique positioning as an investor friendly, liberal and efficient destination for business. I am also committed to Kerala’s unique capacity for social innovation in empowering women and the underprivileged and in including them in the rising prosperity of the state. It is my privilege to be able to serve my karmabhumi Kerala by giving this State a world class institution that many generations will be proud of.”

IIM Kozhikode has chosen Kochi, the commercial capital of Kerala, in line with the need to create the right environment to facilitate the transformation of Kerala into a business hub and a preferred investment destination. High literacy and e-literacy rates aided by government led projects contribute to employable manpower resource in Kerala. The Government of Kerala is consistently aiming for an IT led growth over the next few years. The recent NASSCOM survey on 9 leading Indian ITES destinations covering a range of parameters including land costs, power and communication infrastructure ranked the Kochi as the second best ITES destination above Metros like Bangalore, Mumbai and New Delhi.

The initial facility inside Kochi’s Infopark envisages commencement of admissions from October 2012.
