Through his article, he tries to give the readers a glimpse of his IIT experience and leave them to judge the difference between U.S. and IIT system of education.

1. Getting in: In the first point ‘getting in’, Rahul highlights that in India from the early 90’s engineering have emerged as the first priority of parents who want their kids to pick up in their higher studies. In India, IIT is considered to be the most prestigious, meritocratic and incorruptible institute of education.  Therefore, unlike any other college in India/ U.S. the admissions are totally based on merit. One can only get into IIT by earning a strong rank in the IIT Joint Entrance Exam (IITJEE). The entrance exam is quite tough and as a result, to achieve a strong rank in the IITJEE exam, a huge number of students across the country enroll in IITJEE training classes, but only 3000 of them can make it into the top IIT’s.
