According to a study conducted by Salary.com, the biggest distractions at the workplace were, 48 percent of them wasted their time at browsing the internet, 33 percent were socializing with co-workers, 30 percent of them were involved in doing personal business, 19 percent of the employees were doing personal phone calls and fifteen percent of them were taking prolonged breaks in-between the work time.
The excuses for time wasting that were given were, 46 percent employees said they were not satisfied with their work, 34 percent felt they were paid less, 24 percent said they were not given any deadlines or incentives, 19 percent complained their working hours were too long, 18 percent said they were distracted by friends, co-workers and sometimes by family members.
