Mumbai: Hitachi Data Systems, provider of IT services and solutions, is set to expand its presence in the western region by opening an office in Pune. As part of expanding its services, the company has appointed Sushim Mukherjee as Regional Director, Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa. In his new role as the Regional Director Sushim will be responsible for driving the Hitachi Data Systems' Technology Alliances Strategy, Sales as well as key marketing requirements of this region. Commenting on the expansion, Vivekanand Venugopal, Vice President & General Manager, India, Hitachi Data Systems, said, "This expansion is part of our ongoing growth strategy and it will help us in penetrating key BFSI, manufacturing, healthcare and IT/ITES segments of this region." On Sushim Mukherjee's appointment, Vinod Ganeshan, Regional Sales Director, Hitachi Data Systems, said, "Sushim's deep understanding of Hitachi Data Systems' solutions, strong account management skills, in-depth industry experience, direct sales experience and knowledge of our internal systems provides a strong foundation for us to increase our coverage, and assist in the rapid growth in creating market opportunities for the region." Prior to Hitachi Data Systems Sushim was working with Sun Microsystems, where he was responsible for setting up the Regional Sales & Support operations for Rest of Maharashtra & Goa. He has done his B.E. in Computer Science and has more than 17 years of combined International experience in Consultative Selling, primarily in overall system integration requirements within the corporate enterprises, BFSI and SME sectors.
