Health and Personal Care are the Future Careers: BLS Survey

Bangalore: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) has revealed the next employment opportunities for the decade. According to its latest study, health care, personal care, social assistance, or construction will be in the mainstream employment list. The report highlights the growth of employment will hit 14.3 percent by adding 20.5 million new jobs over this decade. 5.6 million job openings are expected from both health care and social assistance sectors by 2020. Professional and business firms will be producing 3.8 million job opportunities where as construction sector will be providing 1.8 million openings.

Coming to the occupational details, registered nurses will see the sudden increase in employment opportunities as it grows more than 26 percent by figuring 711,900 openings till 2020. Opportunities for retail salespersons also increase next to it with an expected 706,800 openings. Whereas home health aides with 706,300 openings, personal care aids by 607,000 and office clerks vacancies is expected to 489,500 following the list of top 5 brightest jobs of the decade.

The study has also revealed the slowest growing employment sectors as Farming, postal services and sewing machine operators. In fact, these job sectors will be seeing a major loss of workforce. Reportedly, a loss of 96,100 workers is to take place in farming and other agricultural laboring fields. Another major deduction will be facing by mail sorters, processors and machine operators; the estimated number of loss is 68,900 in figures. Following to this fewer machine operators will see a shrink of 42,100 while the expected decline in mail carrier jobs is 38,100 by 2020.
