Future Generali to hire 10,000 agents

New Delhi: To grow its business, private insurance company Future Generali India plans to recruit 10,000 agents in the next two months. "We have about 40,000 insurance advisers. By March this year, the number would go up to 50,000," Future Generali India Managing Director Deepak Sood told PTI. The company is expecting a five-fold jump in the business on the back of agency force and new policies to be launched in the next two months, he said. The insurance joint venture between Kishore Biyani- promoted Future Group and Generali Group of Italy has collected first year premium of 288 crore during April-December period and expect to close the fiscal with premium collection of 750 crore. During 2008-09, the company garnered 152 crore in premium by underwriting new policies. The company has launched a ULIP scheme Sanjeevani Plus and plans to come out with two more before the end of the fiscal, Sood said, adding that at the same time, the company would also launch a traditional plan and a pure term product. Future Generali is currently active through 92 branches across 84 cities and 163 Future Group malls across the country. The company has paid-up capital of 620 crore.
