Flipkart, Aims To Be The Best In Terms Of HR Policies. Check How

BANGALORE: Flipkart introduces some new HR policies with the aim to maintain best work culture.

The e-commerce giant, who is also a member of Unicorn club in order to be the champs in employee conduct, introduced a new leave [policy. Based on this, any Flipkart employee will now be able to take continuous six months unpaid leave for a career break or any other commitment. The leave can also be taken if the employee wants to recover from any personal loss and then re-join work.

This is mainly to allow employees put in their best focused work commitment to the organization.

Chief people officer at Flipkart, Mekin Maheshwari confirmed that employees can avail this after completing two years work span in Flipkart.

Additional HR policies that are newly introduced include Flipkart employees to get leave for birthday and anniversary celebrations. This leave is extra to the usual list of declared holidays, casual or sick leave (12 days), annual leave (18 days), and declared holidays.

On this Maheshwari comments, "All our policies are aimed at creating a workplace that's inspiring, we want to enable our employees to be able to show maximum productivity at work."

HR policies in Flipkart does not limit to leaves only. Under Employee Assistance Program, any Flipkart employee can get free guidance from professional experts in regards of personal life, career development, work-life stress, legal and financial issues.

In Flipkart’s new travel policy for employees the company ensures all employees will be facilitated business class travel during official work, if the board time is more than six hours. This applies to all Flipkart professionals and not only the top notch management.

CEO of Brain-Tree HR Consulting, Umesh Belludi spoke about these new initiatives of Flipkart. She said, "Such innovative HR policies — inspired in a large part by global best practices — ensure that employees feel a closer affinity to the workplace, and that senior management can in turn think of them as family."
