Phil Falcone

Philip Falcone grew up in Chisholm where he attended Harvard University for financial aid; he later graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics in 1984. Falcone who was a sport enthusiast played college hockey at Harvard and professional hockey in Sweden with Malmo, until when he got injured and went to work on Wall Street.

He started his professional career at Kidder, Peabody & Co. And also worked at Wachovia. He was a Senior High Yield trader at First Union Capital Markets in Charlotte, North Carolina. From 1990 to 1995, he served as President and CEO of AAB Manufacturing Corporation".  And he later went on to head the head of High Yield trading at Gleacher Natwest from 1997 to 1998, and at Barclays Capital from 1998 to 2000. In 2001, he also founded Harbinger Capital. It was also reported that Philip Falcone made investments in the Minnesota Wild hockey team.

In 2012, it was reported that SEC charged Falcone and his Partners from Harbinger Capital with the securities fraud. A year later, he agreed to pay $18 million and accept a five year ban from the securities industry.
