Ericsson Appoints 4,000 Staffs in India

Bangalore: The global mobile network equipment maker, Ericssion has hired employees for its global services unit in India, reports Kalyan Prabhat of "The Times of India."
Speaking to the ET bureau an executive aware of the company's development, told that the Swedish company has recruited more than 4,000 IT professionals at Ericsson India Global Services, accounting for nearly 90 percent of its India Labor force expansion in the year 2011,
In December 2010, the latest employment was shared by the company about its India workforce which increased nearly from 72 percent last year (2011) to 11,535 from 6,710.
Although, the Ericssion India, spokesperson declined to give a detail of the Company's India hiring's. Executives, who are familiar with the development of the company considered Ericsson's global services operation accounted for an overwhelming mass as the balance were channeled across its production unit in places like Jaipur and the nation's R&D centres.
Most recruitment happened at Ericsson India's global service centre ( GSC) which supports mobile phone networks throughout the world, serving nearly 200 million consumers. Over the last eight months, the company has reinforced its teams responsible for delivery of managed services, consulting and systems integration in India, highlighted two individuals familiar with the issue.
The two key markets are India and Brazil where Ericssion has recruited the most compared to North America where the Swedish Network dealer has reduced its workforce.
