A different concern found in the poll was that the system was not oriented to a satisfactory degree. 16 percent of respondents said it was well oriented, 13percent said it wasn’t while 31percent of them said it was practically oriented but only to some extent.

“The syllabus is fine, but we need more practical teaching,” said Nevil Mehta, an IT professional.

The output of the survey suggested greater flexibility in choosing subjects and more field trips which can give students a better industrial experience.

“Most of the students that were part of the survey said that the education system needs a more practical and interactive approach to education,” the report concluded. “Students want political factors to be eliminated from the education system and it should be based strictly on merit,” it added.
