Employers Asked to Deposit EPF, ESI in Workers' Accounts

Chandigarh: The Haryana Government  directed all employers to ensure regular deposition of Employees' Provident Fund and Employees' State Insurance contribution of the workers in their accounts.
"It is the responsibility of the principal employer to ensure deposition of EPF and ESI contribution of the workers in their accounts," Chief Secretary P K Chaudhery said, presiding over the review meeting of the action taken report on the demands of the Sarv Karamchari Sangh here.
He said strict action will be taken against contractors through whom the employees were being hired for any anomalies in their audit for not depositing employees' contribution.
On the demand of the employees for cashless medical facility in private hospitals, he said the directions had been given to all empanelled hospitals to provide treatment to the employees in the event of life threatening emergency without asking for depositing of cost of treatment in advance.
The chief secretary assured that the possibility for providing risk insurance scheme to the sewer men would also be explored.
On the demand of regularisation of contractual staff, the Chief Secretary assured that various aspects would be examined and thereafter decision would be taken in this regard.
