Bangalore: EMC India, a developer and provider of information infrastructure technology and solutions, has announced the appointment of Subroto Das as Chief Operating Officer (COO), EMC India and SAARC region. He will be responsible for driving sales in the region and will work towards maximizing productivity and coverage across enterprise and commercial markets in India and SAARC region. Das brings with him over 19 years of IT experience. His experience and focus has been on people and strategic sales management, and implementing best practices across various interdependent groups within an organization. Das joins EMC from Hewlett Packard (HP), where he was Director, Enterprise Storage Business, Asia Pacific and Australia. Prior to HP, Das held senior sales positions at companies including Cisco Systems and Wipro Infotech. Das will report to Manoj Chugh, President, EMC India and SAARC. Commenting on the appointment, Chugh said, "Subroto brings with him a wealth of experience by virtue of his long-standing association and in-depth understanding of the Information Infrastructure market. He will lead EMC's sales team to realize the high growth potential of the enterprise and commercial markets in India."
