E-Com Firms Like Amazon, Snapdeal And Flipkart Are High On Recruitment
BANGALORE: With technology development user friendly e-commerce sites and apps are making it big in the business sector in India, giving a tough time to regular retailers. As the market has seen a growth from $11 billion to a whooping $137 the e-commerce firms are in a hunt for more employees. With the high level of success each company is trying to spread it wings and conquer the market. The e-commerce giants like Flipkart, Amazon and Snap deal are already in to recruiting employees for various positions in the company, reports The Economic Times.
Somesh Dasgupta, national president of National Institute of Personnel Management said that "As more people turn to e-tailers for furniture, groceries, medicine, clothing and a gamut of other needs, it is logical that expansion in this sector needs to be supplemented by the right manpower," The firms are in to recruiting the freshers directly from campus as well as conducting walk in interviews for rest of the crowd. The firm are in a competitive mode even in the hiring process since the capabilities of employees is directly proportional to the sale.
The Amazon HR director Raj Ragavan made it clear that,"We build capabilities and learn skills based on customer needs, we’re not just looking at educational qualifications, we're looking for smart, flexible and customer obsessed candidates who can play a significant role in helping Amazon raise the bar for the online shopping experience in India." But the Flipkart Chief People officer Mekin Maheshwari had something else. She stated that, "An increase in employee base by itself isn't necessarily a large indicator of success. We're more concerned about hiring people who have the ability to innovate, who have the humility to accept that their knowledge isn't absolute and there's so much more to do,"
