Delhi Government To Offer Job Opportunities To 15k Youths

BANGALORE: The AAP government now attempts to provide employment opportunities for economically backward section. According to a key vow bank of the party, they are planning to hold a job fair in August for which companies looking to hire staff will arrange counselling sessions for prospective candidates.

However it is a long way to achieve the goal, considering the number of unemployed people that has been registered which is estimated to be around 40,000 with the government aiming for 1,500. On the concluding day of the job fair held at Shah Auditorium this August 1st, offer letters are said to be handed out for selected candidates. The government will link private companies to the unemployed people holding over 1,500 vacancies that include financial planning advisers, drivers, peons, like security guards, attendants, helpers, housekeeping, tele-callers, data entry operators among many other posts, reports ToI.

The registered applicants will soon be shortlisted as per the needed qualifications. Gopal Rai , labour and employment minister had cited that the job summit consisting of 25 private companies will be lending out job opportunities to 1,500 youths. A portal will be launched by the government for which job seekers can upload their resumes while employers can also update their vacancies.

A counselling session will be held by the department for eager applicants who will be provided jobs based on verification and qualification. These centres include, Kirby Place (Delhi Cantt), R K Puram, Viswas Nagar (Institutional Area) and and IARI Complex (Pusa).


"We will ensure that applicants get minimum wages and extend the benefit to more people. We will launch a website too," Rai said, suggesting that employment is the main area of the government. The job summit helpline (011-22389393) will be available to answer further query.
