College Still A Great Bet, Because The Alternative Is So Much Inferior
BENGALURU: All over the country only one discussion is being hummed and that is regarding the cost of college education rising up by 5 percent. Though in many universities the early deadlines have been declared and even the acceptance letters are on their way, still parents are thinking whether so much of cost for four year college education is worth or not, reports, Mashable.
According to the Economic policy Institute, last year Americans having four year college degrees scored average 98 percent more per hour in comparison to those without such degrees. So it can be said that the cost is invested in the right flow. Moreover employers prefer grads above the non-grads keeping in mind that more education means more knowledge and more skill. And even if the non-grads manage to get some jobs, they are force to do more and more menial work. On the other hand, there may be complications if the graduates do not get any good job and have to spend their 2 to 3 years in such a job for which they are overqualified. According to Federal Bank of New York, 46 percent of the college graduates are now involved in such jobs, which have no requirement for college degrees.
Now-a-days with the help of internet, knowledge and skills knows no boundary. In U.S. the demand for highly educated employees is growing. On contrary the income of those, who graduated after 2000 have not risen prominently. The drop in starting wages for the graduates was 8.1 percent for women and 6.7 percent for men which left many graduated unemployed.
But a graduation degree is always most preferred because without a degree one cannot stand up to competitions. Though the path is narrow and in today’s date right connections are highly essential to bag a job worth the cost of education. It’s true that knowledge should not be gained in order to gain money but only for knowledge’s sake, but to exist in this materialistic world gaining degree is directly related with a good job and a happy life.
