The attendees will comprise of the education ministers, Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry officials, academicians and experts. As per the no-detention policy, students will advance to the next class without the need of examination until 8th standard.

The teaching community along with the Parents have voiced out their concerns regarding the no-detention policy as well as reinstating 10th class board exams as optional which is believed to have brought down the quality of school education.  In contrast however, the government officials have cited that these measures were initiated to reduce stress amongst students.

Many states have also pointed out that the outcome of education in schools has declined since Class X board exams were made voluntary along with the advent of no-detention policy.
