CII's website - a platform to seek entry- level jobs

Bangalore: The Confederation of Indian Industry, CII, launched a portal called SkillConnect, reports DNA. The CII offered to encourage access to jobs within the unorganized sector. SkillConnect is launched in partnership with the NGO CHF International India. In this portal candidates in search of jobs would be channelized into various industries appropriate for their skills and temperament. Likewise the needs of the industry at entry- level will be charted and those offering Vocational training will be informed of needs in different areas. Manjunatha Prasad Commissioner, department of employment and training claimed, "A skill demand study should be conducted in the state, so that the exact requirement is known. Otherwise, at this point, we have identified the top 10 sectors where youth can be employed. We have zeroed in on the nearly 150 traits that employers seek in these sectors, so that training of candidates can be targeted well" This was proposed in order to have a portal operated in the regional languages, so that English does not appear as an obstacle in communication with the young generation seeking jobs in the state. There are already 30 employers registered with SkillConnect. Vocational training providers have also registered on the website. Candidates seeking for jobs can avail the site to upload their resumes.
