Capgemini appoints Satyam honcho Tayal
Bangalore: In the growing domestic information technology (IT) market, Capgemini, a France-based $12 billion IT company has tasked Ranjan Tayal as the Vice-President and Head of India business. Tayal's previous association was with Satyam, where he drove close to four percent of the company's revenue as the Vice-President and Business Head for India and South Asia for the past four years. As reported in Business Standard, the market intelligence tracker IDC has estimated that the domestic IT services market is currently around $6 billion (Rs 28,800 crore), which will touch around $13 billion (Rs 62,400 crore) by 2012. It is this growth potential that has made major Indian IT companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro and HCL Technologies look inwards for growth. A Mahindra Satyam Spokesperson has confirmed that Tayal has quit the company. "Yes, he was holding fort for India. But the transition is already in place," he added. However, in the recent past, Satyam had seen exits of many top-level executives including the company's Engineering Services Head, T S K Murthy, Automotive and Manufacturing Practices Head, Subu Subramanian and the company's head in Australia, Deepak Nangia.
