Bangalore Students World Toppers In Cambridge School Exam
BANGALORE: The Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examination is the world’s most popular international qualification conducted for students of 14-16 year age group. In the same exam conducted for 2013-14, Bangalore based students Manas Kohili and Manik Raghu Reddy were declared as toppers of the world in Computer Studies and Combined Science, respectively; reports The Times of India.
Manas, an IGCSE student from The International School Bangalore, secured the highest in Computer Studies and also became India topper in Chemistry. His parents, who are retired employees of software companies, are overwhelmed with joy.
“My teacher gave me less marks in a mock examination conducted by the school. This motivated me to secure the highest marks in this subject in the IGCSE examination,” said Manas. “I don't study for too long, just around four hours. I want to pursue Science and become an engineer.”
Manik Raghu, who is also an IGCSE student from School for Learning, Bangalore, stood as the topper in Combined Science.
Manas and Manik are also as the world toppers among 30 students, who scored highest marks in the across the globe in individual subjects in Cambridge International Examination series–Cambridge International IGCSE, Cambridge International AS Level, and Cambridge International A-level conducted in November 2013 and May 2014.
