Hyderabad: After the slowdown for two years now, the job market is now back on the hiring mood but ironically, the aspiring candidates are not eyeing on the MNCs, rather the indigenous companies are their hot picks. Experts feel that, the mid level executives in India, which used to get lured by the MNCs will now prefer Indian firms which are financially immuned, reports Padmini Copparapu of the Times News Network.
"The economic slowdown busted the myth that MNCs were a safe haven. They proved to be as unsafe and unreliable as the next company," said Manish Saberwal, Chairman of Teamlease Services. Experts feel that, the image of Indian companies is slowly changing.
Staffing companies have estimated that there is 30 to 40 percent increase in hiring in sectors like travel, telecom, healthcare, financial services, product development and IT companies in roles such as sales and marketing compared to MNCs.
"The premium associated with MNCs no longer exists. Besides, Indian companies are getting better every day. They now realise the importance of talented manpower and HR, so they are investing heavily in that," seconds Vijay Kumar of Peepal Consulting.
The gap between Indian companies and MNCs is narrowing down now nad the Indian companies are now having the same characteristics as that of the MNCs.
