App Developers Among Top Choice For Startups
BENGALURU: Startups in India are trending heavily with e-commerce giants like Flipkart, Snapdeal and many others. Although these companies have achieved a high altitude in both national and global market, they are looking for top App developers from small startup companies like Namakh. A competitive war is going on between the startups to hire the best talent reports, ET.
Startups that are funded highly, are hiring experienced product managers with high salaries up to 30 Lakh, which is almost double than that of the multinational companies as per Preetam Salian, Chief Executive at HiringMonk. He further added, “Large ecommerce firms) don't want to waste time hiring from other large companies. People who have worked at a startup and identify with the culture are the ones they go after.”
Candidates with iOS and android skills are preferred above the data scientists. Companies like Flipkart, Snapdeal, Quikr, Housing and Ola got the maximum funding in 2014 which is allowing them to hire fresh talents with fat packages.
An Ola Spokesperson said, “Compensation depends on multiple parameters like competency, specialisation and experience. We offer competitive compensation for talent across the board.”
Snapdeal, Vice president of Human resources said, “We pay highly competitive salaries and have never lost out on good talent due to compensation.”
Offers from startup companies have increased by 120 percent last one year with an initial salary of 16-20 lakhs. Prateek Shukla, CEO OF Grabhouse said, “Even one year ago, employees used to take 30-40 per cent salary cuts and take ESOPs when they joined startups. But nowadays, things are going in a very different direction.”
Karthik Prabhakar, senior associate at IDG Ventures India Advisors said, “The only way companies like ours can get talent is by offering more stock options. In a year or two, you'll see more and more Android and iOS developers. It will become a balancing act.”
