United States: Most Preferred Destination By Indian Students

BANGALORE: India may be the birthplace of some major big shots or inventor of wireless communication and Ayurveda, but Indian students still believe that U.S have the best opportunities to work. 28 per cent of increase has been noticed among Indian students who are migrating to the United States of America, since 2013  and about 1.13 Lakh of students are pursuing their higher studies there, said  American Centre deputy director Greg Pardo, as per TOI.

At an alumni interaction programme, which was organized by Consulate General of the USA, Kolkata, Pardo advised the students, to pursue their higher studies abroad and undergo a detailed online research on streams they want to enroll.. Regarding the students who want to go in quest for under graduate programs, he further added, “They should start taking the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) from class XI and zero in on the schools they can try at.”

He further advised the students to check the official U.S. embassy website for authentic details and join the parent-student counseling provided by Education USA. In order to differentiate between a genuine and a fake university, Padro suggested undergoing a thorough online research and emailing the alumni of the concerned university. He said,

"Check how old the university is and what accreditations they've mentioned; whether it's compatible with Indian scenario; email its alumni to know their experiences as most of the authentic universities provide alumni details."

Naveen Chopra ,the Chairman of the Chopras, an educational consulting group based in Delhi,"The U.S. economy is growing now, and unemployment has fallen from 10 percent to 6 percent” Indian students believe the U.S. has the best opportunities for work. China, India and South Korea, top three places of origin now represent approximately 50 per cent of the total students enrolling for international students in the U.S.
