Top 10 Engineering Colleges in India

BENGALURU: The Human Resource development (HRD) Ministry has released the top universities, engineering, pharmacy, and management colleges list illustrated in its ‘India Ranking Report 2016’. The unique ranking framework for higher education bodies is accomplished is a retort to the existing scenario where Indian universities and colleges fail to fare well in global rankings.

The report was established with the participation of 3,500 public and private institutions, further ranked by National Bureau of Accreditation (NBA), on the basis of five standards:-

1.       Teaching and Learning Resources

2.       Graduation Outcome

3.       Perception

4.       Outreach and Inclusivity

5.       Research Productivity

The top 10 best engineering colleges slot has been occupied by IITs with IIt Madras placed aat number one with weighted score of 89.42.

1.       IIT Madras

It is amongst the oldest IITs and was established in the year 1959.

2.       IIT Bombay

The list showcases IIT Bombay at second place with a weighted score of 87.67. The college was established in the year 1958.

3.       IIT Kharagpur

It is the oldest IIT in the country, established in the year 1951. It received a weighted score of 83.91.

4.       IIT Delhi

Established in the year1961, the college has a weighted score of 82.03.

5.       IIT Kanpur

With a weightage of 81.07, it stands at No. 5 in the list. The college was established in the year of 1959.

6.       IIT Roorkee

Established in the year 2001, Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee stands at No. 6 with a weightage of 78.68.

7.       IIT Hyderabad

It is one of the newest IIT on the list and was established in the year 2008. It received a weighted score of 77.23.

8.       IIT Gandhinagar

This college was also established in the year 2008. It received a weighted score of 75.21.

9.       IIT Ropar

Established recently in the year2009, the college received a weightage of 74.89.

10.   IIT Patna

Indian Institute of Technology Patna with a weightage of 74.68 and was established in the year 2008.
