The University of Georgia, commonly referred as UGA, is an American land-grant university located in Athens, Georgia, U.S. It is the flagship University of the State of Georgia and is ranked 20th overall among all public national universities in the current 2014 U.S. News and World Report rankings. Additionally, the university has ranked consistently within the top 200 universities worldwide across numerous publications.
In the latest developments UGA has jumped five places compared to its previous rankings this year, thanks largely due to improved test scores and a more competitive admission rate. The university has had one of the highest yields in the list, where nearly half of students who earn acceptance letters have choose to enroll, and 94 percent stick around after the first year.
