Korea as a nation, gives a lot of importance to classroom education, which brings fierce competition between students. Women as compared to men have a stronghold in the educational field in this country and the country provides compulsory educations for all children.

The government ensures education by funding the students and offering free education for all children between 6 and 15 years of age, and high school students between the ages of 15 and 18. Extra-curricular activities and self-study are also given major priority.
