TCS Sticks to Campus Hiring; Plans to Recruit 25,000 Students in FY2015
Bangalore: Here is a reason to rejoice folks! Amidst growing speculations about increased emphasis on just-in-time hiring, Tata Consultancy Services has set its eyes firmly on hiring 25,000 students in FY2015 from campuses across India, reports the Economic Times.
As per Ajoy Mukherjee Global Head and VP, Human Reasources at Tata Consultancy Services, India's largest IT exporter is determined to increase its workforce by about 45,000-50,000 this financial year and aims to be a 3 lakh strong firm by early next year.
Mukherjee was quoted stating, "We anticipate visiting most of the universities we went to last year and plan to make 25,000 campus offers", reports the Economic Times.
He added that the company's joining ratio is up by 2 percent (from 72 to 74 percent) in the last few years, which is an indication that greater percentage of individuals who were made offers are joining the company.
Lack of lucrative job offers in the wake of recent economic gloom and the positive student engagements programs by the firm are viewed as the major reasons for this turnaround.
Mukherjee also revealed that there will be no changes in the salary structure for recent recruits, and the standard joining salary, i.e., Rs 3.15-Rs 3.25 lakhs per annum, will be the same.
