RBI and SBI in the Top Priority of Indian Students - Reveals Universum Survey
BENGALURU: It seems India’s youth are more attracted towards state owned-RBI and SBI than top MNCs around the world. A survey conducted by Universum has indicated that RBI is the third most preferred-employer after Google and Apple, followed by Facebook and SBI in Business/Commerce category.
Survey conducted among 29,448 students from 157 universities across the country with a title “India’s Most Attractive Employer 2016” has highlighted the popularity of PSUs among the youths. The fancy for organizations such as RBI and SBI can be perceived by looking at the number of banking service aspirants throughout the country. While RBI recruits its entry-level employees through a grueling entrance exam or from prominent institutes such as IIMs, SBI conducts its own entrance exam for the candidates looking out for a career in SBI.
Executives like Raghuram Rajan and Arundhati Bhattacharya are also inspiring the candidates to join these top organizations. The list incorporates different areas of study including Business/Commerce, Engineering/IT, and MBA where Engineering graduates have picked Google, Microsoft and Apple as their top priority followed by Facebook, BMW, Volkswagen, L&T and BHEL. The Natural Science students have chosen Google, ONGC and Apple as their top priority followed by RBI, SBI and Microsoft.
The list also talks about career aspirations and preferred industries. International career, balanced life and entrepreneurship were the most-preferred career aspirations among the youth followed by stable job and managerial post. Aerospace and Defense, Engineering and Manufacturing, and Banks were the top priority of students as preferred industries followed by software and computer services, Education and Scientific Institutions, and Management and Strategy Consulting.
