Over 60 Pct Employees Find Their Employer Branding Unsatisfactory: Report

BANGALORE: A survey of 560 organizations by TimesJobs stated that about 64 pct of the people have a well-designed and clear employer-branding strategy while 74 pct of the people are satisfied with their strategies. With the competitive working environment, employer brand is at the prime focus to showcase and add critical value to one’s talent, reports ET.

On the other hand, a survey of 800 employees revealed that 67 pct have the view that their higher ups doesn’t have a good employer-branding strategy while  a major number of employees  see their company's present  strategies unappealing. While 23 pct of the employees agreed that the strategy is convincing,  10 pct find their company's strategy inefficient.  Although Employers are optimistic about employer-branding strategies the significant gap in their view and that of the employees stand on opposite grounds.

Furthermore, TimesJobs report reveals that only 42 pct of surveyed employees said they would recommend their company to others. What’s more is that companies are not just battling amongst each other for sales but also for hiring high-end talents as well.

TimesJobs’ TJinsite Survey on Employer-Branding Perceptions suggests that although the present branding strategies is favorable to experienced professionals, entry and mid-level candidates are not pleased with it.

Vivek Madhukar, COO, TimesJobs.com said, "The workplace paradigm is changing, the millennial generation thrives in a hyper-connected 24X7 world, where information and opinions blend into a single news stream to create employee perceptions. Companies have to work with greater speed and transparency, which is only possible with wide scale adoption of an open culture and a flat hierarchy."

In addition, around 70 pct find it helpful when organizations exercise social media to reach out to employees and only 56 pct of the employees actually find it effective. Also 32 pct employers consider career portals and company rating/peer review websites to enhance their employer-brand while 44 pct of the employees find it helpful and effective.
