Oracle to hire 200 people for Bengaluru's Digital Hub

BENGALURU: Bengaluru is the home to many reputed IT firms from all across the world, hence it is popularly known as the IT hub of the country.  The tag is going to continue it seems as the city has recently seen the opening of a new state-of-the-art office of Linkedin at Global Tech Park. Along the same lines, Oracle will be setting up its office in the city to promote and sell digital technologies. The company plans to open four more offices in the Asia-Pacific region—Australia, Korea, China and Singapore. The company also stated that 1000 digital savvy professionals would be recruited to fill the vacancies, out of which 20 percent of the new recruits would be from India.

Shailender Kumar, Managing Director, Oracle India mentions that the organization wants to democratize access to the Oracle Cloud and offer personalized experiences to its existing and potential clients. Kumar added that the newly recruited professionals would be given training to enhance their technical and sales capabilities. This would enable them to make cloud purchases quick and easy for mid-sized companies and startups across various industries.  The recruits would also be provided with tools in a bid to provide customers with real-time demos.

Oracle India currently employs 40,000 professionals for various fields such as Research and Development, Consulting, Direct Sales and Global Support. With International Data Corporation (IDC) predicting a rise in the global demand for cloud at the rate of 23 percent CAG between 2013 and 2019, setting up of these offices looks all the more sensible.
