Majority Of Indian Employees Set To Switch Jobs In 2015

BANGALORE: Randstad India’s ‘HR Game Changers 2015’ survey has disclosed that more than 50 percent of Indian employees are about to switch job in 2015. The reason behind this may be an urge for career development, or thirst for more knowledge and skills or may be requirement of more money. Moorthy Uppaluri, CEO of Randstad India, said, “It is interesting to see that Indian employees are prioritizing the key area of their jobs rather than solely relying on monetary skills.”

According to the survey, around 59 percent of employees are planning to leave their job in next 12 months and only 30 percent of employees are only happy in their current job. Seeking opportunities for growth and development in their career seems to be the basic cause behind candidates seeking new jobs. As per the data reflected in the survey, 65 percent of employees want a change in their career, 50 percent of employees need salary hike and 27 percent of employees seek learning and growth opportunities.

The survey has revealed that employees want to be valued and cared for their dedication. 33 percent of Indian employees feel that the organization where they are working should understand their importance. They should value their contribution towards the organisation. While 21 percent of them said that being valued and recognized is another motivating factor. About 66 percent of employees said that Remote Working brings a positive effect on job satisfaction.

Employees continuing their current job gave the reason that improving flexibility, trust and recognition are enough to attract employers. Among them 64 percent of them are happy with good opportunities of growth and advancement, while 51 per cent want to continue the job because of good work life balance.37 per cent are happy with their salary and remuneration on other hand 40 per cent are enjoying flexible work options. Moreover 33 percent are staying because of strong learning and development opportunities.
