Infosys to open new tech hub in US, promises 1000 jobs for Americans
Indian's second largest IT services firm, Infosys is going to set a new tech hub at Hartford in Connecticut, Which will create 1,000 jobs for the American citizens by 2022. The tech hub at Connecticut will have a special focus on insurance, manufacturing, and healthcare said by the company personnel.
Last year, Infosys had announced that in the coming years it will set up 4 hubs in the USA, that was estimated to create 10,000 jobs in the next two years. This measure was taken due to restriction taken in H-1B visas by Trump government.The first technology and innovative hub was set up at Indianapolis and has announced another such hub in Raleigh, North Carolina, and a design Innovation hub in Providence, Rhode Island.These hubs will not only train people on technology and innovation but also help in working closely with the clients in industries like financial services, healthcare, retail, energy, and manufacturing.
The President of Infosys Ravi Kumar said that investment in the USA will further strengthen Infosys's ability to serve clients needs throughout the New England region and expand the local workforce.To which he also added, Hartford' position as the position of the world's insurance capital, paired with Connecticut's academic institutions will place us in proximity to clients and accelerate the recruitment of local talent.
The hub at Connecticut will include insurance and healthcare labs that focus on smart underwriting, claims fraud, Cloud, and the Internet of Things, and will provide data security and data sharing to Infosys clients.
