Infosys on a Hiring Spree; Plans to Hire Over 8000 Employees

Bangalore: All is not gloomy in corporate India. Several Indian IT majors, especially, Infosys are expected to be on a hiring spree in the next six months. According to a top executive from Infosys, the company aims to hire over 8,000 employees in Pune over the next six months. And he added that this is part of the firm’s expansion plans for which it has already acquired additional 150 acres of land in the city, reports Tarini Puri of TNN.

Pravin Kulkarni, Associate Vice-President, Infosys, was quoted stating on the sidelines of a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative that, "We will shortly begin operations at our new building in Hinjewadi Phase-II. We are looking at growth across verticals, like finance, insurance, banking, energy, retail and manufacturing, for which we will hire nearly 4,200 software professionals across all forms of expertise. We also plan to hire an equal number of heads again around March when our third facility becomes functional", reports the Times of India.
