Indian Students in US

ET reflects on the survey conducted by mba.com ‘Prospective Students.’ The survey explored the motivations, behaviors, program choices and intended career outcomes of 12,00 individuals across 30 countries. Prospective students were categorized as career enhancers, those who seek to learn more for better opportunities, career switches who wish to switch from one path to the other and the aspiring entrepreneurs. A point worth noticing is that 28 percent of the survey respondents wish to start their own business.

Also, above 50 percent of these students intend to pursue their MBA abroad in foreign nations, than their home countries. 53 percent of the Indians prefer U.S. as their study destination over any other country and a reasonable 21 percent would like to pursue their studies in India itself. As studying in UK is a costly affair only 7 percent of Indians prefer it.  Meanwhile U.S. remains the top education destination to MBA graduates.
Another interesting point is that over 50 percent that is half of the global graduates are drifting towards MBA than any other course. This whopping numbers showcase the high end aspirations of the newer generations.

Once upon a time it was the bank jobs that attracted the people, then came in the engineers followed by bloom of corporate companies which now offer better jobs to MBA grads and hence the MBA trend kicks in.
